Apprenticeships
Leyland Trucks is committed to delivering apprenticeships which add value to both the individual and the company.
Apprenticeships provide an entry route into the business which allows you to combine both educational studies with practical hands-on experience, whilst earning a salary. Apprentices follow a standard development framework which incorporates practical, evidence based knowledge with academic skills gained within an educational setting. Our award-winning apprenticeship scheme supports and develops apprentices to their full potential, within a global, market-leading organisation.
Apprenticeships are now open
We are now taking applications for our 2025 Apprenticeship Scheme. We are recruiting 22 apprentices this year across a range of business areas, including Assembly Operations, IT, Supply Chain, Controls Engineer and Design Engineering. The different types of apprenticeship we offer are:
-
Advanced Apprenticeships (Level 3)
An Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 is a vocational training program designed for individuals who have completed their GCSEs or relevant qualification. Advanced Apprenticeships are an excellent way for individuals to enter the workforce to develop their practical experience and gain a recognised qualification, enhancing their employability and career prospects. After completing an Advanced Apprenticeship, you can then go on to gain further qualifications.
-
Higher Apprenticeships (Level 4)
A Higher Apprenticeship is an advanced form of apprenticeship that allows individuals to gain practical work experience while studying for a higher qualification, such as a Higher National Certificate (HNC). A Higher Apprentice is for individuals who have completed their GCSEs or relevant qualification. You may have also completed a Level 3 qualification and now want to develop your skills even further.
-
Degree Apprenticeships (Level 6)
Degree Apprenticeships offer a unique and effective way for individuals to pursue higher education while simultaneously gaining valuable work experience. They are particularly beneficial for those who prefer hands-on learning and want to enter the workforce with a strong foundation in both theory and practice. A Degree Apprenticeship will allow you to gain a degree qualification without incurring any student debt. This Apprenticeship is suitable for those who have achieved their Level 3 Qualification and are ready to start full-time employment in their chosen field.
